The objectives of this organization shall be:

• To promote an informed public through political education and activity.
  
• To increase effectiveness of women in the cause of good government through education and active political participation.
  
• To facilitate cooperation among the National and State Federations of Republican Women and Republican Women's clubs.
  
• To support the objectives and policies of the local, State, and National Republican Party and to work for and provide financial assistance for the election of Republican nominees.

Some examples of our community projects are:

• Scholarship: SARW awards an annual scholarship to a high school senior girl who plans to pursue a college education in the fields of political science, journalism, television or economics.
  
• Military Support: SARW provides support to military and their families deployed from Chatham County, including in school mentoring for children.
  
• Barbara Bush Literacy Program: The Barbara Bush Literacy Program, sponsored by the Savannah Area Republican Women, was established in 1994 as an educational arm of SARW. Volunteers, who may or may not be members, either tutor one-on-one young readers or read to the classes of young children to promote a love and appreciation of the written word. Our Literacy Fund provides books for classroom libraries.
  
• Women's Shelter: Members provide supplies when needed.
  
• Charitable Disbursements: This committee provides funding and volunteers to local non-profit organizations such as The Salvation Army and The Red Cross.
  
• Magazines: SARW collects and distributes magazines to Assisted Living facilities and other institutions.
  
• Campaign Development: SARW hold training seminars for prospectiv3e candidates. Presentations are made by office holders and professional advisors on subjects such as fundraising, media and the effects on their families.
